Text: James 5:1-4
Memory Verse: “Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth” (James 5:4).
In Israel’s greatest hour of need, the Lord of Sabaoth arose, waged war, and rescued His covenant people. As a believer, you must remember that you are in covenant with Him. In your most desperate moments, when all hope seems lost and defeat appears inevitable; you can cry out to your King, the Lord of Hosts, for the battle belongs to Him.
In Revelation 22:13, Jesus declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” He is your Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of hosts. Whether earthly armies, the stars, or angels in heaven, He
has absolute command over all forces, both good and evil and nothing moves without His knowledge. This truth should give you comfort and confidence in every battle you face.
Nebuchadnezzar, the greatest king of his time, learned this lesson the hard way. God humbled him for seven years, reducing him to the state of an animal until he acknowledged the sovereignty of the Lord of Hosts. In Daniel 4:35, he
confessed: “All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can hold back His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You
done?’” No matter the battle before you, put your trust in the Lord of Hosts. He fights for His people, and His victory is certain!
Prayer Points:
1. O Lord of Sabaoth, arise and fight my battles.
2. O Lord, be my strong tower and my defence.
