Text: Philippians 3:7-10, Jeremiah 6:16
Memory Verse: “Thus says the LORD: ‘Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk in it’”(Jeremiah 6:16).

Is the knowledge of God truly important and essential to our day-to-day living? Imagine a family brought into a bustling city by a wealthy relative. He drops them off at a massive amusement park at 9am, promising to return by 6pm, after an urgent meeting. He encourages them to enjoy themselves and then drives off. The family, unfamiliar with the environment, have never seen anything like it before. Will they not simply wander around in confusion?

That is exactly what life becomes for anyone trying to navigate the world without knowing God; the Creator, Owner, and Sustainer of all things. Just as the amusement park would seem strange to that family, the world becomes overwhelming, chaotic, and even meaningless to those who lack a relationship with God.

Anyone who disregards the knowledge of and submission to God is bound to stumble through life, confused, directionless, and unfulfilled. Just like Apostle Paul, immediately after his divine encounter on the road to Damascus, one becomes spiritually blind without God’s light (Acts 9:8&9).

Knowing God brings clarity, stability, direction, and purpose. His wisdom anchors our decisions, offers peace in life’s storms, and aligns us with eternal truth. Anyone whose knowledge of the world outweighs the knowledge of God risks wasting their life and ultimately losing their soul. Jesus asked, “What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” (Mark 8:36). Pursue and obey God’s Word intentionally.
Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, grant me the grace to know You more.
2. Lord, let the understanding that I get from knowing You produce valuable wisdom in me.
