Text: Genesis 21:1-7, Genesis 18:14
Memory Verse: “Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son” (Genesis 18:14).

Yesterday, we examined why the knowledge of God is important to us as His creatures. Today, we move forward to explore the route that leads us to truly knowing Him and fulfilling our purpose.

John Bunyan, in his classic Pilgrim’s Progress, tells of a man who sets out on a  journey toward eternal life. As he departs, his wife and children plead with him to return, fearing the dangers ahead. But he places his fingers in his ears and runs, crying, “Life! Life! Eternal life!” Likewise, believers must shut out voices that discourage the pursuit of God, knowing the destination is worth overcoming every obstacle.

Anyone familiar with a road does not panic when others say it is impassable. We must recognise that God continues to speak, especially through His Word. When we read the Bible, we hear God directly. His Word is the sure path to knowing Him.

A familiar chorus declares: ‘You cannot tell me God is dead, He woke me up this morning…He opened my blind eyes to see the way that I should go… I spoke to Him today!’

God is Lord and King over the world. He fulfills His promises, no matter how impossible they seem. He visited Sarah, and Isaac was born. He sent fire from heaven in response to Elijah’s prayer. Take courage, in your journey to the Promised Land, you do not have to walk alone. God still leads and empowers those who seek Him earnestly.

Prayer Points:
1. Help me, Lord, to shun every distraction.
2. Lord, let the impossible situations in my life be turned around for Your glory.
