Text: 2 Corinthians 5:5-8
Memory Verse: “For we walk by faith not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:5-8)

To live by faith, we must understand what faith means. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This biblical definition highlights the essence of faith: trusting in the unseen, yet promised, realities of God.

Abraham’s story is a powerful example of faith in action. In Genesis 12:4, Abraham obeyed God’s instruction to leave his father’s land without
hesitation, trusting in God’s divine direction. Hebrews 11:8&9 highlights this act of faith, showing that Abraham’s unwavering trust pleased God, even more when God told him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Despite the unknown, Abraham stepped out in faith, and God honoured his obedience.

As believers, we are called to emulate Abraham’s faith, trusting God even when His instructions seem unclear or unreasonable. We can learn from Abraham’s example by trusting God’s promises, even when the outcome is uncertain, and obeying God’s instructions, even when they seem unreasonable. Abraham is a hero of faith who did not merely believe, he acted on that belief, trusting in God even when His instructions seemed unclear or unreasonable. Let’s walk by faith, trusting God’s plan for our lives, and experience the blessings that come from obeying Him. By faith, we can overcome challenges, achieve God’s promises, and live a life that pleases Him. Hebrews 10:37-39
reminds us to stay faithful and not draw back, knowing that God always honours those who trust and obey Him.
