Text: Mark 12: 13-17
Memory Verse: “And Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s’” (Mark 12:17).
The Jewish leaders of the biblical period were deeply frustrated by Jesus’ ministry. His teachings and actions directly challenged their beliefs, so they desperately sought ways to entrap Him. On one occasion, they devised a cunning question about taxes, ensuring He would not be able to escape. However, to their utter embarrassment, Jesus responded with divine wisdom, skillfully avoiding their trap.
As a child of God, you may find yourself in seemingly impossible situations where enemies set up traps designed to leave you with no way out. In such moments, you need God’s wisdom and understanding to navigate the challenges (Proverbs 8:11). Sometimes, God intervenes ahead of you. A group of enemies once conspired to kill a child of God and burn his house. That night, he unexpectedly overslept elsewhere, and an argument broke out among his adversaries over who would start the fire. This divine intervention saved both
his life and his home. Every satanic plot against your life is destined to fail.
Also, as a believer, you must fulfill your civic responsibilities. A friend once told me about two well-known Christians in his neighborhood who were the most vocal against community development projects. When the street members agreed to contribute toward purchasing a new concrete electric pole, everyone paid except for these two. You must never use God’s name as an excuse to neglect your civic duties. Rather, lead by example, demonstrating love,
integrity, and responsibility in every aspect of your life. Your life is the Bible people read. Represent God well.
Prayer Points:
1. May I not fail You, O Lord.
2. Father, grant me the wherewithal to take care of my responsibilities.
