Text: Galatians 5:16-26

Memory Verse: “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

Have you ever wondered why the first thing that catches your gaze as you approach the glass doors at the mall or salon is the cautionary sign, “mind the glass”? The reason is simple: those doors are fragile and cannot be easily mended once broken. There is no room for carelessness when dealing with something delicate.

Your mind is like those glass doors – precious, fragile, and reflective of who you are. Yet, often, things that can shatter one’s life are allowed to pass uncensored through  the gateways of your senses. As a tripartite being (spirit, soul, and body), your regenerated spirit and old nature (the flesh) are in constant conflict over the control of your soul. The soul, which consists of the mind, will, and emotions, is like the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of your life, processing every thought, desire, and decision. Whichever force controls the soul will ultimately control your life.

This is why the Scripture warns you not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind and to walk in the Spirit (Romans 12:2). By doing so, you are empowered to filter out ungodly thoughts, and your mind is set on pure things (Philippians 4:8).

So, the next time you are tempted to let your guard down, remember to “mind your mind.” It is your own glass door, the most precious gateway to your future. Protect it and keep it aligned with God’s truth.

Prayer Points:
1. Thank You Lord for the great privilege of having the mind of Christ.
2. Lord, grant me the grace to deny myself of every lust capable of corrupting Your nature in me.
