Text: Esther 6:6-12
Memory Verse: “So Haman took the robe and the horse, arrayed Mordecai and led him on horseback through the city square, and proclaimed before him, ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’”
(Esther 6:11).
There is no condition that is permanent. Things can change for the better or otherwise. Failure can suddenly change to success. Your oppressors can suddenly become your errand boys. Mordecai was the son of Jair, a Jew who was taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar. Mordecai worked at the palace gate. During his daily duties, he was intimidated and insulted by Haman. Suddenly, the tables turned in his favour. King Ahasuerus, his unsolicited helper, could not sleep, the book of remembrance was opened, God’s favour located Mordecai; and Haman, his sworn enemy, was commanded to decorate him (Esther 6 : 10 & 11).
Others who experienced God’s sudden turnaround include Joseph, a prisoner, who became second in command in Egypt. He had been sold into slavery by his brothers at the age of 17, but at 30 years he appeared before Pharaoh as his deputy (Genesis 37-41). David, the shepherd boy who was overlooked when Samuel went to Jesse’s house to anoint one of his sons as king, became a king in Israel.
Saul the persecutor of the church in Jerusalem became Paul the Apostle whose impact in Christianity remains unparalleled. The widow of Nain, who was on her way out of the city to bury her only son, had her son restored back to life when Jesus Christ met her on the way (Luke 7:11-17). Have you met Jesus? God made the difference. It is your turn to experience a positive turnaround.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, thank You for Your grace upon me today.
2. Lord, let there be a turnaround in my life.
