Text: Ephesians 1: 15-20
Memory Verse: “I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” (Ephesians 1:17).
Blindness is the inability to see; a state of continual darkness where one Bmust rely solely on touch or imagination. It can be deeply frustrating, demanding full dependence on others to navigate, interpret, or understand one’s environment. While physical sight is important, there is a far greater need: spiritual vision. Without it, life becomes confusing and uncertain. Physical blindness is limiting, but spiritual blindness is far more dangerous, as it separates you from God’s direction and exposes you to deception and destruction.
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Spiritual blindness restricts your understanding of God’s will and robs you of the ability to walk with a purpose. Like the story of the five blind men who each touched a different part of an elephant and drew incomplete conclusions, your limited spiritual perception can cause you to misunderstand God’s bigger plan. That is why you must be conversant with and have a balanced view of the Bible.
The Apostle Paul prayed, “That the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling… ” (Ephesians 1:18). Without this spiritual enlightenment, you will stumble in the dark. Hagar, overwhelmed by despair, did not see the well that could save her child, until God “opened her eyes”(Genesis 21:19). Are you struggling to understand your purpose? Cry out to God today. Ask Him to open your spiritual eyes, so you may walk in clarity, wisdom, and divine revelation.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, please open the eyes of my understanding
2. Father, help me to be sound spiritually, that I may see what You have in
store for me.
