Text: Deuteronomy 30:1-10
Memory Verse: “That the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you” (Deuteronomy 30:3).
In Deuteronomy 28, Moses rehearsed the blessings and curses attached to obeying and disobeying the commandments of God before the children of Israel. Subsequently, after God had renewed His covenant with the
Children of Israel in Moab, Moses warned them to keep the words of the covenant, if they want to prosper (Deuteronomy 29:9).
Moses then revealed to them what God would do to them, if any man contravened the covenant and disobeyed God, as well as what would happen, if they repented and returned to Him. This shows the magnitude of the mercy
and compassion of God, whose mercies never come to an end, but are renewed every morning (Lamentation 3:22).
Moses pointed out to the people that the following blessings will be theirs and those of whosoever returns to God from their backsliding state:
1. God will have compassion and bring you back from captivity
2. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.
3. The Lord will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.
4. He will prosper and multiply you more than your fathers Have you gone far away from God because of disobedience and things are no
longer working for you? God loves you and wants you to return to Him. Examine your way and return to the Lord today, and He will pour His blessing afresh upon you.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, I repent of my acts of disobedience, please forgive me.
2. Father, please pour your blessings afresh on me.
