Text: 2 Kings 2:9-15
Memory Verse: “Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, ‘Where is the LORD God of Elijah?’ And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over” (2 Kings 2:14).
There are times in life when challenges seem overwhelming, like the weight of the world is pressing down on one. No matter how hard one tries, it feels like one cannot find a way out, and doubt begins to creep in. One may wonder, “Where is the God I serve, the God I read about in the Bible, the God my pastor speaks of? If He parted the Red Sea and made a way in the wilderness, why does He not do the same for me?”
In such moments, one may even question if God still listens. Be reminded today that God is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He has not abandoned you. Often, He allows you to go through trials to shape something beautiful in your life. These challenges are not without purpose.
Elisha once found himself in a seemingly utterly impossible situation. Surrounded by obstacles and with no apparent way forward, he could easily have given in to fear and despair. However, in that crucial moment, he remembered the mantle of his mentor, Elijah, and the faithfulness of God in the past. With that in mind, he cried out, “Where is the God of my father?” (2 Kings 2:14a).
Cry out to God in faith, knowing He hears you. He has not forsaken you. You are precious in His sight and when you pray in faith, testimonies will follow. Trust Him, and you will move to the next level of victory.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, give me more grace to wait on You in my wilderness.
2. Father, let every mountain before me crumble.
