Text: Matthew 8:5-13
Memory Verse: “The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy
that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant
will be healed’” (Matthew 8:8).
Faith is not only expressed through belief and prayer, but also through words. The Bible teaches that our speech holds power, shaping our realities and reflecting our trust in God. In Colossians 4:6, Paul urges believers to ensure their words are filled with grace and wisdom. This means that in every situation, your speech should reflect the authority, confidence, and assurance you have in God. Faith has a language, and those who walk in it must learn to speak accordingly.
The centurion in Matthew 8:5-13 demonstrated this language of faith. He recognised that Jesus had divine authority and declared it. His words were seasoned with salt, filled with belief, humility, and confidence in Christ’s power. Similarly, in Matthew 15:21-28, the Canaanite woman displayed faith through her words.
As a believer, the words you speak reveal your level of faith. Do you align your speech with God’s promises, or do you contradict them with doubt and fear? The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue and you are admonished to choose life. Speaking faith-filled words, even when circumstances seem bleak, is a way to activate God’s power, and prove that life is more preferable than death.
Today, choose to let your words reflect faith. Instead of speaking negatively about your challenges, declare God’s promises over them. Speak life, healing, and victory, knowing that faith-filled words invite divine intervention.
Prayer Points:
1. Dear Lord, forgive me for confessing unbelief unknowingly, and help me to do better from now on.
2. May I receive wisdom to say the right words.
