Text: John 14:12-17
Memory Verse:“the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17).
The Lord Jesus never left believers in Him without a comforter in the Tperson of the Holy Spirit. He is described as the Helper in John 14:16. He is the gift of God to mankind, and as many who will believe in the name of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. He does not tell or teach a lie. He is the Spirit of God that reveals the will of the Father to us in all things. The world neither knows the Holy Spirit in person nor enjoys His ministry, but believers
in Christ Jesus know Him and can see His operations in their lives. The Spirit of truth works in the believer to expose the spirit of lie that has enveloped the world. He also works with the believer helping him to live a life of truth that
conforms to the life of our saviour Jesus (John 14:6).
We see the operations of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of truth in Apostle Peter in unveiling the lies of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11. “But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit..” Acts 5:3.
This is still true today in the life of a believer. It is the will of God that you enjoy the ministry of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of truth. You must, however, give yourself to constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit through prayer and bible study.
Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, fill me afresh now.
2. Father, I receive grace to be given to the truth so as to enjoy the ministry of the Holy Spirit more and more.
