Text: John 15:1-7
Memory Verse: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me,
and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
A stabilizer creates equilibrium by counteracting forces that cause imbalance. The same way, wisdom, knowledge, and the strength of salvation, provide stability, peace, and security, even when life throws challenges at God’s people (Isaiah 33:6). God promised to be the stabilising force in the lives of His people.
Abiding in God’s truth provides the foundation for a stable and an unwavering life. His promises of stability hinges on your commitment to live in reverence of Him and follow His commandments. Psalm 119:11 says that keeping God’s word in your heart will guard you from sin, and that His word acts as a guiding light on your path (Psalm 119:105).
Stability in life does not come from external circumstances, but from staying rooted in God, the ultimate stabiliser. Jesus reinforces this truth, stating that just as a branch cannot bear fruit without the vine, you cannot live a fruitful life without remaining in Him. When His words abide in you, you are empowered to ask and receive blessings from Him and this is a crucial key to stability in all areas of your life.
God is not a source of confusion, but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). He desires to be the stabiliser of your life, but it requires your submission to His ways, living by the principles of His kingdom, and walking in constant fellowship with Him. Your choice to live by God’s wisdom and knowledge will grant you access to the abundant life He promised.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to perpetually look up to You as my Stabiliser.
2. Lord, help me to keep Your words in my heart and live by them.
