Text: Daniel 2:19-28
Memory Verse: “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days” (Daniel 2:28a).
Are you awestruck by the greatness of the Almighty God? Deuteronomy 10:17 describes Him as the “God of gods, Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty and a terrible God.” Truly, God is indescribable, awesomely awesome. If you have ever tasted the raw power of God, you will understand this reverence even more deeply.
Because there is a God in heaven, you need not fear, especially when you have touched His mercy seat in prayer for our land. No one should intimidate you with threats of violence or war. Although such arrogance offends God, we are still charged with the responsibility to intercede. God requires our prayerful participation. He says, “If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray…” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Let us pray to drive away fear and uncertainty in our nation. Let us pull down strongholds and raise up righteousness through prayer. The enemies of our peace may seem powerful, but we engage them with a superior power, the power of God (Philippians 2:10). The wicked one only respects God’s power.
It is only the prayer of the righteous, however, that moves God to action. You cannot defraud your employer or live in sin and expect your prayers for your nation to be heard. God listens to the righteous, not those gathered in numbers but lacking integrity. May God find you worthy to stand in the gap for our land. May your life align with His righteousness, and may your intercession bring healing to our nation.
Prayer Points:
1. Heavenly Father, please take control of our nation.
2. May Your peace reign in our nation.
