Text: Hebrews 2:14-15
Memory Verse: “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil” (Hebrews 2:14).
The birth of Jesus brought hope to all mankind, but His death and Tresurrection ushered in victory, redemption, and new life. Easter is not just a season of celebration, it is the culmination of God’s redemptive plan for humanity. At Easter, the door to Eden, once shut after the fall of man, was reopened through the blood of Jesus. That’s why Christ declared, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture”(John 10:9).
Through His death on the cross, Jesus disarmed principalities and powers, making an open show of them and triumphing over them (Colossians 2:15). He overcame the devil and delivered us from the bondage of fear and sin. The resurrection is proof that the sacrifice was accepted, the price fully paid, and the victory eternally secured.
When He arose, Jesus took captivity captive, and gave us access to the abundant life He promised. The resurrection guarantees that we are no longer slaves to sin, fear, or condemnation. We have received grace, mercy, righteousness, and eternal life. We are free, indeed (John 8:36).
Even when life’s battles rage on, we no longer strive for victory; we walk in the victory already won through the cross and the empty tomb. Rejoice, for death is defeated, the grave has lost its sting, and Christ is risen! Hallelujah! Happy Easter! Rejoice in your risen King!
Prayer Points:
1. Thank You, Lord, for freeing me from the bondage of Satan.
2. May Christ’s death and resurrection not be in vain in my life.
