Text: 2 Chronicles 20:15-22
Memory Verse: “Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated” (2 Chronicles 20:22).
Life is indeed warfare, from cradle to the grave, and no one is immune from it. God can give you victory without a fight, because He takes over the battle Himself and shields you. Exodus 14:14 says, “The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace!” We can see in Jehoshaphat’s story above how the Lord set ambush against Moab, Ammon and Mount Seir who came against Judah, after Judah praised God.
However, what makes a difference for the individuals, as to the type and magnitude of victory is largely dependent on our individual commitment to the Man of War Himself, the Lord God, mighty in battle. So, let us get committed to our Commander-in-Chief by:
1. Complete and unalloyed obedience to Him at all times.
2. Engaging in worship, high praises and dances.
3. Giving testimonies of His power and love.
4. Allowing Him to lead in every battle.
What is that challenge that looks like the wall of Jericho? Remember the wall of Jericho fell down flat as the children of God praised the Lord. Arise, sing and praise the Lord like never before, He will arise and scatter all your avowed enemies and detractors.
“Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. … But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; … Sing to God, sing praises to His name; … And rejoice before Him” (Psalm 68:1-4).
Prayer Points:
1. Father, take over my battles and let the world know You are backing me.
2. Father, as a true soldier of Christ, let me align with You to fight the good fight of faith.
