Text:
Philippians 3:7-14
Memory Verse:
“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).
Life is a journey; we are travelling inevitably from wherever we started Lgradually to the end. It is often said that “whatever has a beginning will surely have an end.” The most crucial thing, however, is what happens in-between. Every life is driven by something, knowingly or unknowingly. Are you
conscious of what drives you? Remember that you were created to love, worship and serve God. Are you on course or you have deviated? There are levels of living:
1. Survival living: This is the first and the lowest level where many are just existing, no major goals to achieve in life. They are everywhere, at any time, going aimlessly. Nothing drives them and they are not driving anything.
2. Successful living: Those here focus on living a comfortable lifestyle, but it is not satisfactory. They are ready to do anything for the sake of success.
3. Significant living: This is when you know why you are where you are. You have a purpose for your life (Philippians 3:8). You realise the meaning of what is going on in your life and what you stand for. A life that sets boundaries or limits; a life with caution and discipline.
Every life needs to move from the success level to a life of significance and relevance (Philippians 1:6). From where are you getting your values, the world or the Word? Do you have pleasure in God’s presence? David said “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.”
Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to know You more.
2. O Lord, be the centre of my purpose for living.
