Are You Still Doubting Me?

Text: John 11:20-27, 38-40
Memory Verse: “Jesus said to her, did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:40).

Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, was sick. When Jesus heard it, He said that the sickness was not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified by it. Jesus went four days later. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went, met Him and said to Him “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died (John 11:32). Jesus told Martha that Lazarus would rise again, but she replied “… on resurrection day”; she doubted Jesus. Jesus then told her that He was the resurrection and the life. Jesus asked the people to roll the tomb stone away and He called forth Lazarus to life. What stands a true child of God out is unflinching trust and faith in God. It is very dangerous to doubt our God and Creator.

Some reasons why you must not doubt God are: He is truly interested in you, nothing is impossible with Him, He is neither a liar nor a deceiver, and He wants the very best for you. Do not be like the children of Israel, who doubted the ability of God to take them through the wilderness: only the few who believed were preserved. All the generation of the doubters perished in the wilderness (Deuteronomy 1:32-34).

The help of man is vain, trust the Lord unreservedly and your joy will be full, as you depend absolutely on Him (Proverbs 3:5-7). Never doubt God.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, I believe; help my unbelief.
2. Lord, help me to trust You more.
