Text: Luke 1:26–35

Memory Verse:“Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’” (Luke 1:34).

There is a natural course of life that everyone follows; for example, pregnancy comes before the birth of a baby. Oftentimes, people tend to plan it all out by themselves, hoping to achieve something by the plans they had created. As life unfolds, doubts, uncertainty, situations that were not planned for may arise to threaten or derail the planned outcome. Mary kept her virginity and a plan was underway to marry her betrothed husband, Joseph. Suddenly, an angel announced to her that she had been favoured to carry the pregnancy of the Saviour of the world, Jesus. This was not in her plan and it had never before been recorded that a virgin got pregnant.

She was confused and began to process the information within her. The more she processed it, the more she got confused and it looked like her life was about to get destabilised. In her confusion, she asked the angel a very important question, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” The angel promptly answered her question and calmed her spirit. Whenever you find yourself in a confusing situation that does not align with your plans, ask questions. Understand that life can be clumsy, and you will need to speak out, so you do not suffer in silence.

To be properly guided when at a crossroads or in a confused state, consider these options; Consult with the Holy Spirit (John 16:13&14), and seek counsel from mature brethren (Proverbs 15:22).

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to trust Your guidance always.
2. Father, deliver my spirit from every confusion
