Text: John 11: 39-45
Memory Verse: “Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?’” (John 11: 40).
How quick are you to believe big promises? There is a certain part of us that is a little hesitant and a little skeptical to believe every promise that we hear. Have you ever believed a promise, only to have that promise broken? We live in a world of broken promises, and it is hard to trust when you have experienced them. When it comes to God, you can take His word and promises as the foundation on which to pattern your life because they are guaranteed. Jesus made big promises to Mary and Martha. One of them was, “Believe, and you will see the glory of God”. Jesus promises everyone who believes in Him that, someday, they will see wonderful and awesome things – the glory of God. Jesus at the funeral of His good friend, Lazarus, also promised Martha: “Your brother will rise again” (John 11:23).
It can be difficult, sometimes, to believe God, when we consider happenings around us such as the grief of losing a loved one suddenly, when a successful career suddenly ends, or when good days are replaced by bad ones, but it is
possible. The correct order in God’s kingdom is to believe before you see (John 20:29). All things are possible to those who believe, and God will fulfil His promises. We must not fail to believe God, so that the enemy does not rob us of His blessings. If you believe, you will see the glory of God (Luke 1:45).
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, strengthen my faith in You.
2. Father, help me to continually believe all Your promises.
