Text: Proverbs 18:10&11; Ephesians 2:4-7
Memory Verse: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10).
A boy of about 12 years old, sat calmly in the examination hall. The peace around him was so glaring compared with the palpable fear on the faces of the other students. An enquiry about him after the examination revealed that he was the best student in the class. Life gives us many options in our search for security. In Proverbs 18:10&11, we
see two contrasting sources of confidence: the name of the Lord and the rich man’s wealth. God is the strong tower of the righteous while the wealth of the rich is merely security in his illusion.
The name of the Lord reflects His person, characteristics, and attributes. God is a source of security only to the righteous, i.e., the ones who believe in Him. Even if a man dwells in a physical tower, he cannot be protected by the tower, no matter how strong the tower is, until he seeks protection from God. The demand is that we must take our place in Christ. In Him, we are lifted above the powers of darkness (Ephesians 2:6).
Have you had a personal encounter with the Lord? Do you believe in Him? Are you sure you belong to Him? Be assured that no power from the pit of hell has hands long enough to reach and conquer you (2 Thessalonians 3:3). God will protect and feed you all the days of your life. You are safe and secure in the Lord God Almighty.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, thank You because I am safe, and secure in You.
2. Lord, help me to remain steadfast in You.
