Text: Matthew 7:24–27
Memory Verse: “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does
them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock”
(Matthew 7:24).
Everyone builds his or her life on something – relationships, success, Epersonal goals – but not all foundations can withstand life’s storms. In this passage, Jesus contrasts wisdom and foolishness, showing that true stability comes from obeying His words and making Him your foundation. Many people follow personal desires or societal pressure, but if Christ is not
your reason, your efforts will eventually crumble.

Within this short parable, Jesus highlights two builders, representing the two major categories of people. Both faced storms, but only one house remained standing – the one with a solid foundation. The wise builder represents those who hear Christ’s words, obey them, and make Him the centre of their lives. The foolish builder, however, represents those who ignore or disobey Scripture, relying on their own wisdom. When difficulties arise, such a life cannot withstand the pressure and ultimately collapse.

Ensure that in every step you take Christ is your guide. Ask Him to help you make the best decisions that will strengthen your relationship with Him. Be certain that every block, small or large, is laid on the solid rock, which is Christ Jesus. If He is not your reason for pursuing your goals, your efforts may lead to disappointment.

Take a moment to reflect: Is Christ truly the foundation of all you do? Are you making decisions with Him as your guide? Choose to make Jesus the reason behind every aspect of your life. A life built on Him will stand firm, no matter the storm.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me build every area of my life on Christ, my solid rock.
2. Father, let my decisions and actions always be centred around You.
