Crown The Year With Your Goodness

Text:
Psalm 65:1-11

Memory Verse:
“You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance” (Psalm 65:11).

Goodness means moral virtue. It represents that which is pleasing, valuable or useful. God’s goodness includes good health, peace of mind, favour, prosperity and good success. God is abundant in goodness and His goodness is great (Zechariah 9:17). The beginning of a new
year is often welcomed with hope and anticipation, praying to God to bless it. But as the year draws to a close, we tend to express fears and reservations as to whether it will end well. Psalm 65:11 is a statement of faith and promise. With Jesus, each day comes forth with promises, as Psalm 68:19 says “Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation!” and
Ephesians 1:3, NLT also says “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
To draw from these promises, you need to follow the biblical principles which include: ensuring you are in intimate relationship with Jesus, committing yourself to living a sin-free life, mending bruised and broken relationships, being better organised, planning your work and working out your plan, avoiding carelessness, errors and compromises, aiming at working smart, being at the right place at the right time, engaging with the right person(s), embracing humility and sobriety, seeking God’s counsel for wise decisions and choices, being contented, and exercising your faith.
As the Lord crowns your year with His goodness, allow Him to stir up your heart with compassion to reach out to others through spiritual and material edification.

Prayer Points:
1. Almighty Father, I reject every sorrow and tragedy associated with this year.
2. By Your grace, I take possession of all blessings and goodness connected to this year.
