Revelation 2:1-7

Memory Verse:
“Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent” (Revelation 2:5).

The story is told of a man of God who went back to his village to check the church his father had founded. The Church building could hold three hundred people as at the time his father died. Twelve years later,  it had become a small room with ten people in it. When he inquired from the
Chief of the village as to what happened to the Church, he was told that ‘the leaders felt that there was no reason to maintain it!’ That same attitude is prevalent today. Many have forgotten their first love and the level of commitment to the things of God has dropped drastically. There is no more commitment to the cause of the Kingdom. Where is the total commitment among believers that will prove to anyone that Christianity is a matter of life or death? Christians have become lukewarm, indulging in much compromise. Young converts, looking for a justifiable cause to commit
themselves to, are turning to the devil.
Do you have an absolute commitment to the Lord? Can your obedience compel someone who wants to commit all of his life and all that he has to the gospel to do so (Matthew 5:16)? Does your attitude show you truly belong to Christ?
Today, be challenged to face the demands of the Lord Jesus and put an end to lukewarmness and eye-service. Our God deserves the best. Jesus will soon come. Will He find you in the faith (Luke 18:8)? Repent now before it is too late.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to have an absolute commitment to You.
2. I refuse to be lukewarm, O Lord, rekindle Your zeal in me.
