Do You Have Space To Spare?

Text:
2 Samuel 6:8-12

Memory Verse:
“So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite” (2 Samuel 6:10).

King David and a great number of his people were approaching Obed- Edom’s house, singing and dancing, when suddenly the oxen tripped! Uzzah caught the Ark just before it hit the ground and
steadied it, but he himself fell down dead. He had been struck by God for touching the Ark! There was pandemonium, wailing and fear. No one was willing to touch the Ark or continue on the journey to Jerusalem. Afraid, the king turned to Obed-Edom for help. He needed somewhere to put the Ark. Picture the scenario in Obed-Edom’s house that day as he hurriedly created
room for an Ark nobody wanted. Similarly, Jesus was being swamped by the people listening to Him preach. He needed somewhere to sit and there behind Him was Simon’s boat. His request
to borrow the boat was granted and Simon made room though he had closed for the day (Luke 5:1-7). Hannah’s womb was available to God who needed someone to be the next priest in replacement for the house of Eli. God’s need was met by her need for a child who she was willing to give in to God’s service.
Everyone who offered God space got a bounty in return. Obed-Edom was richly blessed for the three months that he kept the Ark. Simon got fish he could not get all night in one swoop while Hannah got more children besides Samuel (1 Samuel 2:18-21). God will use whatever you offer Him willingly. Do you have space to spare in your heart, house, business and life for His use? He will repay you bountifully.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I am making room for You, please fill me.
2. All that I have I give up for Your use, O Lord.
