Text:
Genesis 41:39-46
Memory Verse
“You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt'” (Genesis 41:40 & 41).
Joseph encountered challenges right from when he was young, but that did not halt God’s promises on his life. It all started when he shared his dreams with his brothers and parents which brought him envy and hatred. His brothers planned to kill him, but later resolved to sell him off to the
Ishmaelites (Genesis 37). He worked as a slave with Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh. Even in that
condition, he found favour in the sight of his master such that he became overseer over his house and all that he had and, as a result, the Lord blessed the house of the Egyptian for Joseph’s sake. Even in prison, he was made the overseer of all the prisoners and all that were there, because the Lord was with him (Genesis 39)!
Joseph was brought to limelight as a result of his gift of the interpretation of dreams. He interpreted King Pharaoh’s dreams which no one was able to do and proffered solutions. As a result, the king made him lord over his house and all the land of Egypt, except his throne (Genesis 41:40-44). From prison to the palace and from being a prisoner to the Prime Minister! What a wonderful God! God’s promises to Joseph did not fail.
Your gifts or talent can serve as an instrument of breakthrough for you. God’s promises over your life will never be aborted, but with fervent prayers and firm faith in Him, you will laugh last.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, let Your favour speak for me.
2. Lord, do not allow the enemy to halt Your promises for me.
