Text: Psalm 61:1-4

Memory Verse: “From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2).

Life can be overwhelming and difficult. This is so true when you consider the different scenarios that confront you and oftentimes sap your strength. Situations that make you feel that you cannot take it anymore and sometimes cause you to think of giving up. When your heart is overwhelmed, you need strength from someone who is
greater and stronger than you. God is greater, never taken by surprise or overwhelmed by anything or any situation. You need to ask like David, the Psalmist, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2). When you are in Christ and draw strength from His limitless bank, you can cope with situations you otherwise would not have been able to handle. You get new and divine wisdom and strength to navigate tough times.

No one can take away your joy unless you give it away (John 16:22). There is no need to get angry and lose your cool, God’s strength is sufficient for you and will keep you above and help you overcome in every circumstance. Go back to Jesus every time you feel overwhelmed. Whisper a prayer whenever and wherever you are in the morning, afternoon or night. God always answers prayers.

A popular chorus says, “There’s no me without You, Lord, You make me what I am. When I’m weak Thou art strong. No me without You, Lord, No me without You, Lord.” Bask in the strength of the Almighty God.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, strengthen me every moment of each day.
2. Give me more grace to lean on You, Lord.
