Text: Proverbs 24:10
Memory Verse: “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small” (Proverb 24:10).
To faint simply means to be weak, while adversity originates from the root word “adverse”, which simply means unfavourable. Therefore, adversity refers to an adverse or unfavourable circumstance or situation, often marked by difficulty or pressure.
The Scripture shows that the proof of true strength is revealed in the midst of adversity, that is, when we experience unfavourable situations in our lives. Therefore, no man can genuinely claim to possess strength in one area or another without having faced and overcome challenging circumstances or unfavourable situations. Strength must be tested and proven through trials so that inner resilience is truly refined.
It is, therefore, important that we build capacity in all areas of life. One of the effective ways of building capacity is through reading, studying, meditating on, and acting on the word of God. The word of God is likened to a sword; it
empowers us to challenge and defend ourselves against opposition from the forces of darkness.
Engaging in regular prayer is another crucial means of building capacity. Prayer helps us to be strengthened in our inner spirit and prepares us for spiritual battles. In our quest to build stature, it is important we know that the ministry of the Holy Spirit should not be left out. Attempting to study and pray without the help of the Holy Spirit can lead to frustration. You should, as such, embrace and rely on the Holy Spirit to help you as you press toward greater strength and spiritual maturity.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I receive grace from the Holy Spirit to build stature in all areas of life.
2. Father, grant me divine wisdom and strength in any area of life that I am weak.I
