Text: Deuteronomy 30:15- 20; John 1:4
Memory Verse: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Life reflects our choices. You are what you are today because of your past choices. What you will be tomorrow and where you will spend your eternity will be defined by the choices you make today. Many focus inordinately on things in their lives over which they have no control such as the place of birth, race, sex, year of birth, height, natural disasters associated with the environment and many similar things.
The knowledge of God and His goodness must give us peace concerning things over which we have no control. Unfortunately, man ignorantly chooses to stray from God and His plans. The one God created as black bleaches his or her skin to become white. The one God created as a man is dissatisfied and goes for a transformative operation to be a woman. The cosmetic surgeons are busy because people are unhappy with their physical features which are God-given, normal and beautiful.
We want a beautiful life which can only be found in Jesus Christ (John 1:4). When we move close to God, we embrace life and blessings. When we depart from God, we embrace death and curses. God is calling us to make the right
choice, the choice of life. The choice of Jesus Christ. When you choose Jesus, He will guide you in other choices; business, finance, marriage, relationships, politics and making decisions in difficult situations. Your choices should be made to please Jesus alone.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to always make the right choices.
2. Lord, deliver me from the consequences of my past errors of judgement. Let me have a second chance to please You.
