1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

Memory verse:
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

A lot has happened throughout the course of the year, which has caused many to wonder what is going on in the world. Does one because of these stop giving thanks or become ungrateful to God? Of course not, there are many reasons to be grateful, among which is that one is alive. No matter the situation you find yourself in, you can always find a reason to say “thank You” to God. There is joy to be found, not only in the good times, but also in challenging times. When you are not sure of where your next meal will come from, praise God. When you are still searching for a job, thank God for whatever you are doing presently.
In the course of the week, I advertised my business to two of my senior colleagues, hoping that they would patronise me. They laughed at me saying “All to eat”. I felt so ashamed and sad at first, but after a few hours, I smiled and said to myself, “Soon, I will look back at my hustles and laugh in
thanksgiving to God for all He has done for me.” Here I am thanking God in advance for a future that is not yet here, but of which I am assured because I know that He is a God of wonders.
Pay attention to the words you speak. Do complaints come out easily? Change your thought pattern and redirect your perspective. Give thanks always.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, forgive me for all the times I have complained.
2. Lord, give me a heart filled with thanksgiving.
