Text: John 15:11-16
Memory Verse: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruits, and that your fruits should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give you” (John 15:16).
In Christ, you are expected to bear fruits. However, if you do not know your roots, it will be difficult to produce the fruits expected of you. There are things that God Himself has ordained that believers should accomplish in different parts of the world. The Bible does not tell us to isolate ourselves from the world. We are in the world, but not of the world, and cannot isolate ourselves from it. Though we are on earth, the world should not affect us. Rather, we should affect it, as change agents.
Are you living a life of impact? Is your light shining for the world to see? If the world begins to suck you in as a believer, then you will not bear fruits nor will your light shine. Jesus says “let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Men are expected to see your good works. That is what will cause them to glorify your Father in heaven. It is wrong to claim to be a Christian, yet there is no evidence of it. We live in a world today where people feel ”you know I am saved by grace and so how I live does not matter”. That is a lie from the pit of hell. Every seed produces after its kind. Your fruit must show that you are in Christ.
Prayer Points:
1. I am the light of the world and the salt of the earth; help me to bear fruits, O Lord.
2. Lord, help me to get better spiritually, physically, financially, and in all my endeavours.
