God Still Answers Prayers

Text: Luke 18:1-8

Memory Verse: “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Prayer is one of the greatest weapons of the Redeemed and our way of communicating with our heavenly Father. Through this communication, we are able to present our requests and petition before Him. As children of God, prayer must become part of our daily activities. Jesus emphasised the importance of prayer in a parable in Luke 18:1 saying “men ought always to pray…..” The poor widow in Luke 18 was able to bend the hand of the unjust judge to do her will through prayer and endurance. She constantly asked the unjust judge to do her justice. What the widow did was to take the unjust judge to the courtroom of heaven for justice. She was justified and her request was granted.

If this unjust judge could listen to the petition of the widow, God will surely listen to yours. God loves you with an enduring love and He is committed to sending help when you call on Him. Psalm 56:9 says, “when I cry unto thee,
then shall mine enemies turn back; this I know, for God is with me.” You are encouraged to be persistent in asking until you receive answers. You should keep hammering on God’s door asking, seeking, knocking and waiting.
Even when it seems there is no hope, consistently and persistently go to Him. Be encouraged to cry unto God, who is always ready to answer, no matter the number of times you call on Him.

Prayer Points:
1. Thank God for answering your prayers in the past.
2. Lord, answer me speedily according to Your promise.
