Text:
1 Samuel 2:6-10
Memory Verse:
“He raises the poor from the dust. And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes. And make them inherit the throne of glory. ‘For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them’” 1 Samuel 2:8).
My glory and the lifter of my head, Oh Lord God my Redeemer, my Mglory and the lifter of my head…” This was somebody’s song a few years ago; someone who knows and recognises God as The Lifter. God is the lifter of man just as we have seen from the story of Hannah, who was once called barren, but later became the mother of a special child. The Psalmist also repeated this affirmation of Hannah’s prayer (Psalms 113:7&8) that our God is a Lifter.God is the unchangeable Changer, the lifter and mover of man from a lower level to a higher level. He lifted Joseph from the prison to become a prime minister in a strange land. He lifted Esther, a slave girl, to become a queen in a
strange land. He lifted Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego to lead and rule, also in a strange land (Daniel 1:19, 2:48-49). See how He also brought David from the sheepfold as a shepherd, lifted him to the palace and made him inherit the throne of glory. He brought down Haman and lifted the head of Mordecai, a gate man, to become the next in command to the king in a strange land. What a wonderful God we have! This unquestionable God can lift up your
head and lift you up as He did for these people of old. Believe Him for your lifting today, be willing to obey Him at all times and serve Him with all your heart.
Prayer Points:
1. Oh Lord, lift me up.
2. Father, take me to that ordained height of glory that you have for me.
