Text: Psalm 23:1-6
Memory Verse: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23:6).
This declaration of the Psalmist comes from a knowledge of who his Shepherd is. Therefore, with surety and boldness he declares that God’s goodness and mercy follow him. What follows this season is very important and where you dwell is crucial to your well-being. Those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High will abide under His shadows, and be accompanied by His mercy, goodness and uncommon help from God. The days of your life have been designed to ensure
that the favour of a lifetime follows you.
Thus, the life of a man without the help of God will be in shambles. Your call for the help of God will result in:
1. God sending His mercy to you (Jeremiah 42:12).
2. God sending you men to assist you (Acts 16:9-12).
3. God sending you the Holy Spirit, the Helper (John 14:16-18).
God can decide to send you any of these three in answer to your prayers. Mercy is compassionate treatment to someone who is in distress or alleviating pain and distress and to provide relief.
Whenever God has mercy on you, you have truly encountered God’s help. No one can be helped by God without experiencing His mercy. Understanding God’s nature and the nature of men will open you up to receive the help of God. Goodness and mercy of the Lord shall not depart from you throughout the remaining days of your life.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, please show me mercy.
2. Lord, send me Your goodness with uncommon help today.
