Text: 2 Samuel 22:1-4
Memory Verse: “The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Saviour, You save me from violence” (2 Samuel 22:3).
In times like these, with a whole lot happening around us, your safety is in God. Proverbs 18:10 says “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” To run means to rush and to stretch out like David who panted after God and was able to defeat Goliath. Paul was
always in pursuit of God. He said “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Philippians 3:10-11).
To run to Him means to hasten to Him. It means God is your first port of call in every challenge you face, not the Doctors. We thank God for the Doctors. They do a great job, but go to God first before you pop that tablet or those capsules into your mouth. Go to God first, pray over it, and close the door to every other suggestion and doubt.
Find out what God has to say in every situation. That is how to run to God. You must ask the Lord for help in each health situation and what to do next. The righteous know the value of God’s word.
If you believe in His promises, you will run to Him. Nothing else will give you stability. Only God’s pure, undiluted, infallible and errorless word will give you stability. That is what you need.
Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, save my family from every form of violence.
2. Father, please be my refuge.
