Text: Matthew 4:1-10
Memory Verse: “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve'” (Matthew 4:10).
When the devil confronted Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus responded with unshakable authority: “It is written.” With each temptation, He relied on the unchanging Word of God to silence the enemy. The Scriptures were His defense and compass, and they must be ours too. Jesus knew the standard of God, and no amount of persuasion or deception could shift Him. This is the power of knowing the Word.
Ignorance is not an excuse in spiritual matters. In 2 Samuel 1:16, David ordered the execution of a young man who ignorantly confessed to killing the Lord’s anointed. His lack of knowledge cost him his life. The same danger exists today; ignorance can destroy destinies. Many people restrict themselves from advancement because they lack an understanding of the transformative power
of the Word. The Bible is full of promises, principles, and pathways to breakthrough, yet many ignore it.
Thousands are entangled in problems that have clear biblical solutions. Somewhere in the Scriptures lies the answer to that challenge you face. Do not remain ignorant. Begin today to engage the Bible daily, and read spiritually sound books that reinforce biblical truths. Ignorance is a thief that robs you of progress, and reluctance to seek knowledge will only lead to stagnation.
Make it a goal to discover what God says about every issue of life. The knowledge of God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit is your most vital equipment for a victorious journey through life. Seek it. Know it. Live it.
