Text: 2 Corinthians 3:12-18
Memory Verse: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
The only way for us to fulfill any of the divine expectations for our lives is to pursue the knowledge of Him. It is in knowing Him, seeking Him as our greatest joy that we become all that He has ordained for us to become. Our transformation into His likeness, “from glory to glory” is dependent on our seeing Him as He is.
2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit”.
1 John 3:2 TLB “Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is.” We are not called to fight sin in our own strength or to become holy by our own effort. We are called to know God, to behold His beauty and be enraptured by the wonders of His Person (Philippians 3:7-10, Amplified). As we do this, He imparts His own attributes; His love, holiness, power, peace etc. into us. Only He can work in us to will and do His good pleasure.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to keep pursuing You, so I can do exploits in my generation.
2. Father, help me to see You as You are.
