Text: John 7:15-24

Memory Verse: “If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority” (John 7:17).

The primary reason for being knowledgeable in the doctrine of Christ Jesus is not for show or for self-glorification but to honour the Lord God of all grace. To the end that we are made to conform to the image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ, in all things. It is not enough to know the doctrine of Christ and not do it, for the whole essence is to do it.
It is the doers of God’s laws that are justified, not just the hearers or readers only. You must be intentional about knowing the word of the Lord and doing it. Jesus said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you. By this My father is glorified, that you bear much fruit so you will be My disciples” (John 15:7&8).

One way to demystify whether a doctrine is that of Christ Jesus or just high sounding words and not the truth, is to truly know Christ Jesus deeply. Decide to know the length, breadth, depth, and height of the love of Christ, so as to
practise it. That way, you will be free from falling into false doctrines and deception of men. If you are not willing to do His will, you will walk in deception and darkness. Also, you will not be able to know and discern what is coming from God or from the devil.

Prayer Points:
1. O God, help me to truly know the doctrine of Christ Jesus.
2. Father, grant me grace to do Your will from my heart.
