Text: Isaiah 1:18-20
Memory Verse: “’Come now and let us reason together’, Says the Lord’” (Isaiah 1:18a).
God presents the picture of man being on the same level with Him; the Gtwo sitting together, hearing each other out and tabling their views also. Imagine a discussion like this going on between God and man: God: I feel pained whenever anyone misses the plan I made for his recovery back to me.
Daughter: Daddy, it seems that You allow us to go through too many pressures, even when we have confessed our willingness to follow You. We are tempted to look at other options because they seem to provide faster solutions.
God: Those solutions do not come without hidden evil strings. Daughter: But, Daddy, they always seem to give immediate needed relief. God: Yes, Daughter, there will appear to be a relief, but the negative consequences could last beyond a lifetime!
Daughter: How do we then get over this situation? God: You only need to understand and believe –
1. That nothing is impossible for Me to do.
2. That I see the end of a matter from its beginning. So, when I hold back some answers, it is because I want it perfect and at an appointed time.
3. Whenever you decide to choose an alternate solution from Mine, I become sad and displeased because I know the consequences. You have to make up your mind to trust Me, no matter the storm.
Trust in God and He will help you. He still desires that you come, discuss and reason with Him.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to learn to hear from You, and be obedient.
2. Help me depend on the Holy Spirit always, especially in times of storm.
