Text: 1 Corinthians 3:18-23
Memory Verse: “Therefore, let no one boast in men. For all things are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s” (1 Corinthians 3:21,23).
It is common to hear people subtly attribute glory to themselves while giving testimonies. Some ministers of God often credit miracles in their Iministries to their personal ability to pray or fast. They relish human applause, forgetting that it is Jesus Christ who makes us acceptable to God and who deserves all the glory.
In Luke 18:9-12, Jesus described a Pharisee whose temple prayer was selfcongratulatory. He confessed no sin and instead boasted about his virtues – fasting twice a week and paying tithes of all he had. Though the law required only one annual fast on the Day of Atonement, he exaggerated his deeds, suggesting he owed God nothing. In contrast, the tax collector humbly smote his chest and cried for mercy. Jesus commended the latter. Every believer must
learn to return all glory to God. We are, only because Christ is.
Anyone who desires to be a powerhouse for God must have deep compassion for souls. Evangelism remains the heartbeat of God (John 3:16). We must live right, uphold holiness, and be completely sold out to truth and righteousness. To wield spiritual authority, one must be ready to deal with the enemy through the blood of Jesus. You must be honest, loving, and faithful in keeping vows to God and man. If unsure, do not promise.
The true secret of spiritual power lies in understanding that the life you now live is by the grace of the Son of God. You must daily manifest His resurrected life.
Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, help me to focus on Christ and not be a self-centered Christian.
2. Father, give me the grace to allow the fullness of the power of God to work fully in my life.
