Text: Revelation 3:21&22
Memory Verse: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne” (Revelation 3:21).
Are you struggling with sin and expressing doubts on whether you can ever overcome like Jesus did? Fear not and do not doubt! The Bible declares that sin shall not have dominion over you, and God cannot lie (Micah 7:8). Jesus told us that as long as we are in this world, tribulations and problems will come, but because He successfully overcame and we are following in His footsteps, we will also overcome (John 16:33).
You, however, need to examine yourself closely, to see if the reason you keep falling into sin, temptation, trouble and problem is not because you find some level of tolerance or an excuse you always give for why you cannot stop them. God does not have double standards; Jesus Christ is His standard. So, if you desire eternal rest in Heaven, you must have zero tolerance for sin and be prepared to overcome, just as Jesus did when He was on earth.
As we run our Christian race in this world, tribulations and problems will come, but because Jesus Christ successfully overcame, and we are following in His footsteps, we will also overcome (1 Corinthians 15:57). We have to study Jesus’ life, learn how He responded to different life situations, challenges in ministry and live the life exemplified by Jesus Christ. Then we will receive rewards for our work on earth and will be granted access to the privileges reserved for overcomers in Heaven.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I decree that sin shall not have dominion over me! I will overcome all besetting sins in my life.
2. Father, I receive power to resist the enemy, stand firm in my faith and live victoriously as a conqueror.
