Text: 1 Corinthians 4:14-21
Memory Verse:“For the kingdom of God is not in word but power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).
The kingdom of God is where the sphere of influence of the Lord God of heaven and earth is, and this kingdom can only be enforced and established by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many preach the gospel today without power and some have lost the genuine power of righteous living while others are ignorant of the fact that without the demonstration of the power of God, men will equate the preaching of the gospel with entertainment.
From the Scripture, we know that the kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is practical living by God’s power and this power is for service to God and humanity. This was why Christ Jesus gave power and authority to His disciples
to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out the devils and command supernatural recovery (Mark 16:15-18).
It is not just talking that brings the demonstration of the power of the Spirit of God, but the conviction upon hearing the Word, the assurance of the power of Word. Paul said, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4). You must be in alignment with the Holy Spirit and pray using the Word.
Rendering service without power is useless and everyone in Christ Jesus must be willing to serve with the power of the Holy Spirit. You must validate your consecration with the Holy Ghost, if you truly want to serve your generation
with the genuine power of the Lord.
Prayer Points:
1. O God, help me to sustain the discipline required for my consecration.
2. Father, empower me by Your Spirit.
