Romans 11:1-6
Memory Verse:
“And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of work, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work” (Romans 11:6).
When the luxury ship, The Titanic, sank in April 1912, only 706 of the 2223 passengers on board survived. The survivors cut across the different strata of society and passengers. Those who survived were no better than those who perished, but they were saved by grace. Grace is divine favour bestowed freely on people by One who needs not do so. God’s grace kept the 7000 men who honoured and feared Him, in spite of the rule of the evil King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel (1 Kings 19:18). Even Obadiah stood for God and survived that evil regime (1 Kings 18:3&4). God always has a remnant living and standing for Him no matter how bad the generation is. You are not alone standing for God even though many times it feels like you are. Keep standing for Him in your family, community and office. His grace will sustain you.
Grace is a gift; it is not earned by works or anything. Your salvation is not and cannot be earned by works. It is by God’s grace. The grace of God saved you so that you may avoid eternal death (Romans 3:23). This reckless grace, though free to us, came at a great price, the blood of Jesus. God’s grace has granted us adoption as sons.
Have you taken advantage of this awesome opportunity which saves you from spending your eternity in a lake of fire? No sane person rejects or refuses a good gift. Accept God’s reckless grace and gift today, if you are yet to do so.
