Text: Ephesians 5:1-10
Memory Verse: “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children” (Ephesians 5:1).
As children naturally reflect the traits of their parents, so are we called to reflect the character of our Heavenly Father. God’s nature is holy, loving, just, merciful, and diligent in all His works. As His children, our words, actions, and attitudes should mirror who He is to the world around us. Our God is a God of excellence and order. From the creation of the universe in Genesis 1, to the redemptive work on the cross, we see intentionality, love, and integrity in everything He does. He does not act randomly or carelessly. Rather, He works with purpose and power, and He calls us to do the same.
Reflecting God’s character means living in love, walking in truth, and pursuing righteousness even when it is difficult. It is seen in how we handle responsibility, how we treat others, and how we steward what He has placed in our care. Colossians 3:23 reminds us of this. The flesh often resists this calling. It is easier to respond in impatience, selfishness, or indifference. But Romans 12:2 encourages us not to conform to the pattern of this world.
When we live in love, grace, diligence, truth, and humility, we show others a glimpse of God. In a world filled with brokenness and confusion, believers are to be mirrors of divine light and truth. This does not mean we are perfect, but that we strive daily to become more like Him through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to reflect Your character in every area of my life.
2. Lord, transform my heart and renew my mind daily to be more like You.
