Text: Isaiah 40: 28-31
Memory Verse: “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
God said to Israel in Exodus 19:4, “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.” Eagles are bold, courageous and powerful. They fly very high up to the height of a plane in the sky. They fly with authority, are physically strong, and are regarded as king of birds. God said of David, the last born child of Jesse, “…I will make him my firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth” (Psalm 89:27). Grace makes a man function without struggling. For an individual to perform excellently, he must soar to the heights on the basis of grace. Joseph soared like the eagle because the Lord was with him.
People who will soar as an eagle:
1. Have integrity – transparent, truthful and trustworthy. You need to wear integrity as a cloth and honesty as your character.
2. Keep good company – Your friends determine your end. Your success or failures will be determined by your reference group (Proverbs 13:20).
3. Are knowledgeable – knowledge is power. The woman with the issue of blood had the information about Jesus which led to her deliverance.
4. Dedicate themselves to serving others – adding value to others, without expecting any returns.
5. Obey God’s word. If you want to soar as an eagle, be a person of integrity, move with the right
friends, acquire knowledge, and value the word of God.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, give me the grace to soar as an eagle.
2. Father, make me as bold, courageous and powerful as the eagle.
