Text: Psalm 101:1-4
Memory Verse: “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me” (Psalm 101:3).
Social media has undeniably transformed the world, including how we spread the gospel. Evangelism is now easier, faster, and more affordable. With just a post, message, or video, a believer can reach thousands, sometimes millions with the good news of Christ. However, while social media offers great opportunities for good, it also presents real dangers, especially for a child of God.
Amid its many benefits lie subtle traps, content that promotes immorality, pride, deception, greed, and even addiction. These can gradually derail a believer’s walk with God, if not carefully guarded against. So, how can a Christian stay spiritually safe in this digital space? The answer lies in intentional discipline, spiritual sensitivity, and a commitment to holiness.
Psalm 101:2a says, “I will behave wisely in a perfect way.” Let this be your principle when engaging online. Do not use social media to defraud, deceive, or manipulate others. Reject every form of cybercrime, dishonesty, and ungodly entertainment. Instead, set Jesus continually before your eyes. Let your digital life reflect your faith.
Walk with integrity, even when no one is watching. Ensure that what happens in your home, what you watch, read and engage with online honours God. Make a covenant today to stay away from pornography, indecent content and platforms that pollute your soul. Ask the Holy Spirit to caution you and help you choose wisely. Be a light in the digital world. Let your presence online lead others closer to Christ, not farther from Him.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to set You before my eyes always.
2. Help me obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings.
