Text: Acts 4:13-22
Memory Verse: “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).
The phrase “seeing is believing” holds true sometimes, as it is easier to Tspeak about what we have witnessed or heard. When something remarkable happens, sharing the experience comes naturally. This phenomenon is evident in Acts 4:13-22: the rulers, scribes, and religious leaders acknowledged the undeniable miracle performed by Peter and John, testifying that it was evident to all in Jerusalem.
However, despite this acknowledgment, they attempted to suppress the spread of Jesus’ message by threatening the disciples not to speak in His name. Peter and John, however, remained resolute, declaring their allegiance to God over human authority. This highlights the tension between sharing our experiences of God’s goodness and the opposition we may face.
In today’s world, numerous topics compete for your attention, and it is easy to get caught up in discussing the latest news and events. As a child of God, you must prioritise sharing your experiences of God’s goodness, mercy, and love. You should focus on speaking about what you have seen God do in your life and in the lives of those around you. By doing so, you can bring hope and encouragement to others.
So, have you seen God’s goodness? Have you experienced His mercy and love? If so, share these testimonies, speaking life and hope into your conversations. Stop speaking about failures and negative circumstances and instead proclaim God’s will and counsel as revealed in the Scripture. By doing so, you will bring positive change in the world around you.
Prayer Points:
1. I will speak of the mercies of the Lord for ever and ever.
2. Father, fill my mouth with Your praise.
