Text: Acts 4:13-21

Memory Verse: “…and we cannot deny it. But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name” (Acts 4:16 c & 17).

Every believer has been given a commission to go and make disciples of all men (Matthew 20:28). How well have you been carrying out this mandate? The disciples had been carrying out this mandate when the devil whipped up opposition against them through the religious leaders (Acts 4:1-4). Indeed, opposition against the gospel can come from even the most unexpected sources, but you must not be silenced.

Thereafter, the devil used threats and intimidation to try to keep them from continuing their mission, but they were not deterred. Do not allow the devil to discourage you from witnessing. He discourages so that the lost around you
can remain in bondage. People saddled with burdens that can be lifted will end up depressed or even commit suicide, if no one tells them about the saving grace that is in Jesus.

The Samaritan woman whom Jesus spoke to about the living water was eager to know more about the life saver that would remove the need for her to come to the well to fetch water (John 4:13-15). Her mistaken understanding of the
grace of God and thinking only of physical water was, of course, corrected by Jesus.

Today is another opportunity to reach out to the confused, depressed, deceived and frustrated people around you. Pray that the Lord will lead you to souls today and be ready to seize the opportunities that God will bring your way. Do not succumb to the devil’s threats.

Prayer Points:
1. I will not be enslaved by fear.
2. Lead me to souls today and teach me what to say, Lord.
