Text: Proverbs 10:2-5
Memory Verse: “He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich” (Proverbs 10:4).

In today’s fast-paced world driven by advancing technologies, many people seek the easiest ways to achieve their goals. This mindset has led to a decline in hardwork and dedication. However, diligence remains a key factor in achieving success. Diligent people are committed, zealous, and meticulous in their work, striving to accomplish set goals regardless of challenges. They recognize urgency, persevere through unfavourable conditions, and make the most of their youthful years, knowing that diligent effort yields great rewards.

God desires that we work wholeheartedly. Proverbs 22:29 states that a diligent person will stand before kings rather than ordinary men. Diligence attracts recognition, favour, confidence, and the joy of accomplishment. Proverbs 6:6 encourages the lazy to observe the ants, which, despite their small size, exhibit remarkable work ethics. Without a leader, they remain organized and hardworking, ensuring they achieve their objectives.

As a child of God, you must cultivate diligence and reject laziness, as the latter leads to failure and poverty. Laziness is characterized by excessive sleep when work is required, excuses for avoiding responsibilities, and the failure to seize opportunities. Instead, you should adopt a disciplined approach, making the most of every opportunity.

True success is not in seeking shortcuts but in embracing hardwork with perseverance. By being diligent, you position yourself for greatness, ensuring a fruitful and fulfilling life. In the land of Gerar, Isaac kept on digging the wells until he got Rehoboth, the well over which there was no quarrel.

Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, give me the grace to honour You with my work.
2. Father, grant unto me the power to overcome slothfulness.
