Text:
1 Peter 3:10-17

Memory Verse:
“For he who would love life, and see good days. Let him refrain his tongue from evil. And his lips from speaking deceit” (1 Peter 3:10).

A new convert testified that he had been saved by reading a copy of the fifth gospel. This gospel was not Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, but a gospel of another Christian in his place of work. The man was said to be an earnest Christian whose godly life and testimony had been used by God to save the testifier. Paul reminds us in the Bible that we are letters that men read (2 Corinthians 3:2). There are several thousands who have and will never read about Christ in the Bible, but they see Him in the lives of those who are true to their faith. Are you an open letter for Christ wherever you find yourself?
Since you are His epistle, the character of the Lord Jesus is made known by you and your life must be written in a legible, uncompromising, bold hand. Your testimony must be clear, pure in conduct, steady in your walk, honest in business, consistent in all your dealings and always ready to give a reason for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).
The Bible is God’s big letter to us but only few read it, yet the world reads you as a living epistle. He “cannot read” said some men of the navy concerning a comrade, but we can all read him, for he is a true Christian. Remember you are writing a letter to men every day. You may be the only
letter some people will read throughout their lives. What type of letter is your life?

Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, please let my life be a letter of encouragement.
2. Lord God, let what people read in me be the letter of hope.
